Approval for Southampton’s micro-abattoir

Southampton Homestead and Farm received approval from the Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup in June 2014 to operate an on-farm micro-abattoir.  One of only a handful of facilities in Western Australia, it is an important move toward bringing more of the supply chain back on-farm.   We are now busy preparing a range of management plans to ensure effective environmental management, food safety and fire management on the property.
